FUNDRAISING EVENTS
At Hope4Kids, fundraising plays a crucial role in our mission. It’s not just about educational support; it’s also about providing meaningful financial assistance to our underserved students who come from backgrounds such as low income, refugee, and homelessness. We organize events like blanket drives, book drives, youth talent showcases, and more to raise funds. These efforts are aimed at giving underprivileged kids and youth the financial support they need to succeed.
3rd Annual San Diego Young Artists Showcase Fundraiser
November 16, 2025
On November 16, 2025, Hope4Kids hosted the 3rd San Diego Young Artists Showcase for Casa de Amistad. President Melanie Yau ’26, Co-President Chace Sun ’28, and Vice President Baron Li ’27 led the event. For months, Hope4Kids handled publicity, communication, marketing, and coordination with Casa de Amistad and youth partner groups. The community response was incredible. Performers from more than 10 local schools, from elementary to high school, joined the show. They presented singing, classical piano and violin, rock band, modeling, kung fu, magic, and Chinese, K-pop, and contemporary dance.
This year, we focused on giving younger students more chances to perform. They were not just enjoying the spotlight. They were using their talents to help other kids. It gave them an early sense of service and responsibility. Casa de Amistad leadership, students, and families joined the event and cheered for the performers. One Casa de Amistad family, from grandkids to parents to grandparents, also performed a vibrant traditional Mexican dance.
Hope4Kids also led sponsorship and fundraising. We reached out to businesses and community members to ask for support. With help from more than 10 sponsors, we raised over $10,000 this year. This was the third year in a row that youth groups in San Diego solely organized this fundraiser. Over the past three years, the showcase has raised more than $50,000 for Casa de Amistad. Hope4Kids and Casa de Amistad hope to keep this as an annual tradition. We want to support more underprivileged kids and teens each year. By involving younger performers now, we hope to inspire future leaders who see giving back as a normal part of life. Beyond fundraising, Hope4Kids members provide in-person tutoring, college campus tours, STEM seminars, and UCSD outreach opportunities for Casa students.

Second Annual San Diego Young Artists Showcase Fundraiser
November 2, 2024
Continuing the success of last year’s inaugural event, Hope4Kids organized the second Annual San Diego Young Artists Showcase Fundraiser on November 2, 2024. The fundraiser event received overwhelming support from local communities. More than 10 groups, comprising a total of 106 youth, delivered 28 professional-quality performances. The showcase featured many award-winning young artists, offering a variety of acts ranging from singing, classical piano and violin, rock band, modeling, kung fu, magic, and Chinese, K-pop, and contemporary dance, with some performances recognized nationally and internationally. This year’s showcase was particularly enriched by the participation of Casa de Amistad students and families, who performed a vibrant traditional Mexican dance that captivated the audience and underscored the event’s purpose. This performance fostered a sense of unity and shared purpose as the community celebrated both the talent and culture of the very youth they were supporting.
Over 30 organizations and local businesses sponsored the event. Other fundraising activities included face painting, handcrafted jewelry, and raffles. Altogether, the event raised over $16,000 for Casa de Amistad up to date. These funds will be allocated towards tutoring, STEM summer camps, and outreach activities, to help under-resourced students in Casa de Amistad. Casa’s board president Marty King, president and CEO Nicole Mione-Green, and operation Manager Corey Ford, along with their student representatives and volunteers also attended the event. Corey Ford expressed gratitude on behalf of Casa, saying, “On behalf of all the Casa students, families, and staff, we would like to thank you and all your wonderful volunteers for your hard work in putting the event together. It was inspiring to see everyone come together in support of our mission. We are deeply grateful for the support, which enables us to continue serving our student community.”
This event marked the second consecutive year of a successful fundraiser solely organized by three prominent youth groups in San Diego. Over the past two years, this young talent showcase has raised more than $30,000 for Casa de Amistad. Beyond fundraising, the event raises awareness of the challenges under-resourced students face in accessing quality education. It stands as a powerful example of how, through collective efforts, young individuals can leverage their resources and talents to make meaningful contributions and create a positive impact on society. Hope4Kids hopes to make this an annual tradition, striving to support even more underprivileged kids and youth in the future.

Inaugural San Diego Young Artists Showcase Fundraiser
November 11, 2023
Hope4Kids initiated and organized the inaugural Young Artists Showcase Fundraiser, exclusively led by San Diego youth groups, to support Casa de Amistad on November 11, 2023. This fundraising event featured a live performance showcasing the talents of our youth in music, dance, and singing. We partnered with various youth organizations in San Diego, bringing together approximately 100 talented kids and young individuals ranging from elementary to high school. Together, they aimed to spread holiday cheer while raising funds for underserved students at Casa de Amistad. The potential to unite coordinated organizations and youth groups to make a positive impact on our community is genuinely uplifting, and we feel privileged to be a part of this collective effort. It is an honor for Hope4Kids to spearhead and lead this initiative. The opportunity to bring together coordinated organizations and youth groups for the benefit of our community is truly inspiring. Together, we were able to raise more than $17,000 for Casa de Amistad!
